Collaboration with Al-Shehr Water Utility initiated

The Water Utility of Al-Shehr and the Yemeni-German TC Water Sector Program have started to collaborate on developing an autonomous water utility, in addition to improving current business operations. Within the framework of the Provincial Towns Program II (PTP II), Al-Shehr Water Utility is also receiving financial support from the KfW Development Bank for investment in the field of waste water disposal, sewerage treatment and sanitation. During this first year GTZ will assist in general utility management, financial management, human resources development, customer relation management and public awareness. GTZ will also facilitate a joint learning process within exisitingYemeni water utilities. Al Shehr Water Utility can also benefit from already successfully supported water utilities and best practice in other Yemeni municipalities.
