Catalogue on National Training
Courses in Yemen published
At the end of 2007 the Catalogue of Short-term
and Key Qualification Courses for Personnel of Urban Water and
Sanitation Corporations was produced and printed by the
Personnel Development Component of the Water Sector Program in
close cooperation with NWSA. It was distributed to all local
Water and Sanitation Corporations and autonomous water and
sanitation utilities.
This catalogue contains brief descriptions of 29 short training
courses that have been developed with the assistance of GTZ over
the last five years. The courses are coordinated by NWSA and
implemented upon demand by qualified national training providers
like the Technical and Administrative Training Centre (TATC) in
Taiz, the Water and Environment Centre (WEC) of the Sana'a
University or the National Institute for Administrative Sciences
(NIAS) in Sana'a.
These courses target various levels of personnel including top
and middle management, as well as technical staff. The catalogue
contains eight management courses, fourteen technical courses
and seven courses covering administrative and financial
subjects. Additional courses will be developed in line with the
demand from LCs.
This catalogue closes a long overdue information gap as it
provides an easy overview of readily available courses and their
topical contents. Local Corporations and utilities interested in
any of these courses are requested to contact either the
Department of Organisation and Training of NWSA (Tel. 711655908)
or the Personnel Development Component of the Water Sector
Program (Tel. 417634 or 427431).
International donors are invited to make use of the training
courses developed and available in Yemen with national training
providers.
