Personnel changes in the Water Sector Program

Following the start of phase II of the Yemeni-German Technical Cooperation - Water Sector Program we wish to inform you about a number of changes in staffing:

1. Dr Ariane Borgstedt took up her new assignment as Team Leader of the IWRM Component on 1 August 2009, succeeding Dr Michael Klingler, who has now left Yemen.

2. Mr Guillaume Merere is taking up the new position of Team Leader of the Water Utility Component. As demand for advisory services in the field of water utility management has increased, we are pleased to be able to add additional capacities to the Water Utility Component, since this has so far been managed by the Head of the Water Sector Program.

3. Mr Jochen Renger, Head of the Water Sector Program, will be leaving Yemen in mid-December 2009 after almost five years of serving the Yemeni water sector. He has accepted a new post at the Middle East Department at GTZ Head Office in Germany. His successor, Mr Peter Kienast, will be coming to Yemen on an introductory visit in October. He will take over the Water Sector Program at the end of December.
