A total of 21 Yemeni water and sanitation utilities signed a declaration on establishing a Yemeni association of the water and sanitation sector by resuming earlier efforts to enhance the networking between the decentralized utilities.

Yemeni-German Water Program celebrates the World Water Day

Every year, on 22 March, the National Water Resources Authority (NWRA) celebrates the World Water Day. For 2010 Taiz, Yemen’s second largest city, was selected to host the annual ceremony. It was attended by the Minister of Water and Environment, the Governors of Taiz and Ibb in addition to representatives of government and donor organizations.

Workshop on “Private Sector Participation and Communication Strategy in the Urban Water and Sanitation Sector in Yemen”

Under the generous auspice of the Minister of Water and Environment, Eng. Abdul Rahman Fadhle Al Eryani, the GTZ/Technical Secretariat/ Reform of the Institutional Framework in the Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Sector in cooperation with the World Bank held a workshop on “Private Sector Participation (PSP) and Communication Strategy in the Urban Water Sector in Yemen” on 2-3 March 2010 at Mövenpick Hotel in Sana’a.
