Local Council approval



On schedule, Component 5 has had Local Council approval for six of the District Water Resources Development Plans that were developed through training and participatory dialog in 2010. These plans now need to be submitted to the Amran Basin Water Committee.

While forming a framework for water supply and sanitation investments at the community level within a district, they also provide a shopping list to allow other governmental and donor institutions to identify areas of need in Amran Basin.

Further training in proposed with the Local Council members who developed the plans, to build on their leadership capacity to implement the plans as well as to identify the priorities for development in their districts. GIZ and local training consultants will be tasked with this training during 2011.
