Mr. Niebel, German Minister for International Development Cooperation visited Aden and Thula

A high ranking delegation from Germany headed by the Minister of the International Development Cooperation, Mr. Dirk Niebel visited Amran and Aden on January 9th & 10th, 2011 to see German development cooperation projects on the ground and to strengthen good relations and joint cooperation between the two countries.

Mr. Niebel visited jointly with a Yemeni delegation Thula a historical city in Amran governorate on January 9th, 2011. The newly rehabilitated cisterns have been shown and the use of the silver filters demonstrated.

During the visit to Aden on January 10th, 2011, a sewerage project was opened on by the German Minister for International Development Cooperation, Dirk Niebel, the Yemeni Minister of Water and Environment, Abdul Rahman Al-Eryani and the Governor of Aden, Dr. Adnan Al-Jafari. This project was funded by the German Government with the amount of two billion and 943 million Riyals.

The project includes the establishment of a pumping station with full electro mechanical equipments, including two substitutive stations in Mansoura.
Mr. Niebel praised the achievements realized in the city of Aden, stressing the need to accelerate the projects.

He also explained that the German side had discussed with the Yemeni side various issues related to future cooperation between the two countries.
