The Occupational Safety and Health Manual: A step forward in improving the situation in the Water Utilities

Forty eight representatives from the Ministry of water and 15 utilities attended a workshop in which a new Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Manual prepared by Personnel Development Component was introduced to orient water utilities on the best OSH practices.
The OSH Manual can be used as a guide document on:

- Areas of risks within water industry.
- Preventive measures and protection gears.
- How to establish OSH Section at each utility.
- How to select best candidate as OSH Officer from inside the utility.
- How to implement OSH procedures. and
- Importance of First Aid and Emergency Procedures.
