The Yemeni Cabinet endorses a decree to establish the Interim Regulatory Unit for Urban Water Supply and Sanitation

On Tuesday 24th of January 2011, the Cabinet has endorsed a decree to establish an Interim Regulatory Unit at the Ministry of Water and Environment. The Unit, which will be supported by GIZ, will be responsible inter alia for the preparation of the Regulator of Urban Water Supply and Sanitation, preparation of guidelines for services control, preparation of licenses, communicating with costumers and preparing procedures for dealing with costumer complains.
The Unit shall perform and finalize the tasks specified for it in this decree during a period not exceeding two years.
